Diablo Trust Annual Meeting

  • Serendipity 2640 W Kiltie Lane Flagstaff, AZ, 86005 US (map)

Join us to learn how rangelands and climate are changing across the West, and what it means for the future of ranching. Hear from experts and local ranchers about new tools for understanding change and ways to adapt.

Diablo Trust's Annual Meeting this year will focus on the "Changing Landscapes for Ranching in the American West", and will be held at Serendipity Flagstaff on Friday, February 20th, from 9AM-12PM. Light refreshments and coffee will be provided.

Agenda

  • Local Changes: Reflections from Bar T Bar and Flying M

  • Evaluating Influential Status and trends of Western Rangelands: 1984 to present and a little beyond - Matt Reeves, PhD

In this presentation, we unpack the status and trends of vegetation on western rangelands. In addition, we will discuss how new tools, techniques and ideas are shaping our ability to make statements about the past, present and future.

  • Tracking Climate Change and Variability Across the Southwest: Using Rangeland Climate Reports for Insight - Mike Crimmins, PhD, & Trevor McKellar, PhD

Climate across the Southwest is changing, with long-term trends and short-term variability together influencing rangeland conditions and management challenges. This presentation highlights recent climate patterns across the region and demonstrates how rangeland climate reports can be used to understand current conditions, place them in historical context, and recognize broader climate signals affecting northern Arizona landscapes.

We will also be holding a fundraising raffle - thank you to our sponsors! Raffle tickets will be available for purchase with card, check, or cash at the Annual Meeting (see below for more information).
